Obey The Sit At Home Order Or Jeopardize Your Jobs, Businesses, Umahi Tells Ebonyi People

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Governor of Ebonyi  state and   Chairman South- East Governors Forum, Engr. David Nweze  Umahi,  said the zone is already on “red alert” as a result of the sit-at-home ordered by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, even as he orders immediate confiscation of all shops in the State owned by traders who observe the sit- at home.

The governor,  who  equally ordered the sack of Civil servants who obey the sit at home lamented that if the IPOB, order continues, it will no doubt cripple economic development and pursue investors from the zone.

Speaking on Sunday while   addressing members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, stakeholders emergency  meeting  held  at the ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Umahi advised traders and residents to shun the sit at home and  go about their lawful businesses on Mondays.

The governor also ordered for an immediate sack of civil servants who will not come to work tomorrow Monday, and called on security chiefs in the south east zone to deploy security officers to streets to avert breakdown of law and order.

“Any trader that does not open up their shops for businesses will be taken over by the government.

He said: “South east region is gradually being destroyed by IPOB sit-at-home. We have to fight it, we have to say no to that.

“You have to listen to me. A lot of federal agencies have placed Ebonyi state on red alert. I give you an example, it took me going to Abuja to convince the aviation industry to do some approval to our airport.

“Southeast is under red alert as a result of IPOB sit-at-home and it is out of foolishness” he stated.

“Many civil servants did not go to work, we decided not to pay them, but the spirit of God prevailed and we forgave everybody.

” But  tomorrow’s own, anybody that fails to go to work, will definitely cease to be a civil servant in Ebonyi.” he warned.

African Examiner reports that the  sit-at-home declared by IPOB, to press home the unconditional release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, currently in DSS custody, though suspended is still causing panic in the region as residents of the zone entertain fear coming out for their business every Monday.
