Featured, Latest Headlines Tuesday, December 9th, 2014By Niyi Adeyi, Lagos – Amid controversies and court injunction restraining the event from holding, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has formally launched his much publicized autobiography titled: My Watch, in Lagos Tuesday.
A ruling PDP Chieftain, Prince Buruji Kashamu has obtained a court judgement which held that the book launch, originally slated for this week Thursday should be put on hold as some chapters of it contained critiques against the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration.
The well attended launch took place at the popular Lagos Country Club, on Joel Ogunaike/Mobolaji Bank Anthony axis, Ikeja GRA Lagos.
Apparently due to its political implications, President Jonathan has reportedly requested the former Head of State to postpone the book launch till after February 2015 general elections, a request he turned down with response that non of the contents of the autobiography was strange to the general public.
General Obasanjo’s Lawyers have also been said to clarify that the launch despite the court injunction had no severe legal implications.
