NNPC Boss Wants Police To Beef Up Security Around Oil Facilities To Stem Crude Theft

The Nigeria Police Force has been urged to beef up security around the country’s oil facilities and personnel in the sector.
Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Joseph Dawah made this demand during a courtesy visit to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleimon Abba in the Force headquarters, Abuja.
In a statement by the Force’s Spokesperson, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Dr. Dawah who expressed delight on the existing collaboration between the Police and the NNPC requested “more assistance and supports from the Police especially in the areas of pipeline security, theft of crude oil and refined products”.
IGP Abba while responding pledged continuous police support on the oil facilities as well as effort to to explore modern techniques of surveillance in protecting critical national infrastructures across the country.
