NMA President, Kayode Obembe Resigns
Featured, Latest Headlines Friday, August 8th, 2014The National President of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Kayode Obembe has resigned his appointment.
Responding to request for clarification on two conflicting posts on the NMA blog about the association’s nationwide strike which was called off yesterday, Dr Obembe declared categorically that “the strike was suspended” adding: sequel to his “integrity and honour” he could not continue to drive the doctrine that the “strike continues”.
Consequent upon this, Obembe said in a letter dated August , 2014, a copy of which was made available to African Examiner, announced his resignation, as the association’s national head.
Obembe had announced yesterday, that the one month old national strike of doctors has been suspended, saying the decision was to support government at the various levels in the country to check further spread of the ravaging Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), while negotiations on doctors’ 24 points demand would be sustained.
