Nigerians Lash Tunde Bakare Over Recent Statement On Buhari

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The senior pastor and founder of Citadel Global Church Pastor, Tunde Bakare, have come under severe criticism on social media concerning his statement that the situation of the country doesn’t represent Buhari that he knew.

Our correspondent writes that Pastor Tunde Bakare in a statement on Sunday had narrated how he was part of the people who performed a critical role in the emergence of President Buhari. He narrated how he was invited to be a running mate to President Buhari in 2011 because as at that time God had shown him in a vision that GMB still had a role to play in stabilising the country.

However, considering the recent happenings in the country, Pastor Tunde Bakare is wondering if it is Buhari that he still knows. His recent statement concerning the performance of President Buhari as it relates to security and other sectors in the country has sparked social media reactions as some Nigerians took to their micro-blogging platform berating the clergy man for his effort in promoting the administration of President Buhari from the beginning. The African Examiner gathers some of their thoughts below:

FS Yusuf@FS_Yusuf_ writes: “Tunde Bakare: God told me Buhari was coming to stabilise Nigeria. If that was truly God, I bet, people would have to doubt ‘God’ but I’m glad that God isn’t an author of confusion. Na familiar spirit talk am.”

Onye Nkuzi@cchukudebelu writes: “I was at Enugu for several months last  year, I’m not aware of a single person there who listens to Tunde Bakare, or takes his views on his  topics seriously. He’s largely talking to a limited Lagos-based audience – and himself.”

Tosin #ENDSARS@Donteewrites writes: “This is False Pst. Tunde Bakare. According to late Yinka Odumakin, you, Buhari and he and other people were in the same Hotel when the 2011 Post election crisis started. You prevailed on him to douse the tension but he did not. Yinka Left, Did you leave Buhari?? No!”

Ikhide R. Ikheloa@ikhide writes: “You must accept your share of responsibility in the quagmire that is today’s Nigeria. You helped bring us this hell, you must accept that. No amount of sweet words will change your odious place in history, Mr. Tunde Bakare. History will be just to you, because we have written it.”

YouTube: Joy Iseki@africatherapist writes: “That man uses too  much grammar to conceal intentions. After all is written, nothing meaningful is ever really said.”

/sæməʊælfræd/@samoalfred writes: “I did not bother to read it. I don’t like those who speak from both sides of the mouth. He has direct access to the President. I doubt if he has ever told him the truth privately.”

The Normal One@walegerrard writes: “I unfollowed him when I read the nonsense he put out regarding Tinubu and how he has worked tirelessly for Nigeria. Morally bankrupt pastors!”

Hrh d’Duchess Onyx@HRH_onyx writes: “Why is Tunde Bakare doing this? Who is bankrolling this? What’s the motive? What’s the end goal? Something isn’t right.”
