Nigerian Government Approves 2018 Budget Estimates
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Thursday, October 26th, 2017ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the 2018 budget estimates draft.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, confirmed this Thursday, while briefing the State House correspondents at the end of FEC meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Senator Udoma said the council would subsequently liaise with the National Assembly NASS to determine when President Muhammadu Buhari would submit the draft estimates for the consideration of the two chambers of NASS.
The Minister did not give the specific figure as well as other details of the budget estimate, saying that Mr. President reserves the exclusive right to announce the details whenever NASS is ready to receive the draft.
The shift in the weekly FEC meeting which normally holds Wednesdays might not be unconnected with the absence of President Buhari Tuesday, who then was at the fourth meeting of the Presidential Task Force on the ECOWAS currency Programme held in Niamey, Republic of Niger.
