Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu Loses Senatorial Election To APC
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State, Nigeria 2015 Election Monday, March 30th, 2015The governor of Niger state Babangida Aliyu of the Peoples Democratic Party has lost the Niger-East Senatorial District.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, David Umaru overwhelmingly defeated the governor in the state’s senatorial election.
Umaru polled 49,519 votes while Governor Aliyu got only17,209 votes.
The returning officer for the district, Ali Jigam, announced the result on Sunday at the Senatorial Election Collation Centre, College of Education in Minna.
