Niger Delta Avengers Militants Attack NNPC Facilities In Delta
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Friday, May 27th, 2016DELTA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Again, the Niger Delta Avengers have attacked another oil facilities belonging to the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC) and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NNPC) in Warri, Delta State, South South Nigeria.
The attack, according to the residents occurred late Thursday around Batan community in Warri South West Local Government of the State.
Sources in the community confirmed that the latest attack, coming hours after similar onslaught on the Chevron oil facilities affected crude and gas trunk lines.
The daring militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks in a series of tweets on its handle.
The tweets confirmed that the attack was carried out late Thursday and the Militants who involved in the devastating operation have been upgraded to the rank of “Brig. General”.
The series of attacks by the Avengers have affected the daily production of oil multinationals in the Niger Delta region and subsequently slashed the daily production of crude oil, dropping from over 2 million to barely over I million barrel per day.
Already, some oil companies have declared De Majure(emergency) due to insecurity and damaged oil facilities.
