The controversial Acting President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Mike Umeh has lamented Wednesday’s fire incident that gutted the Nigeria football headquarters in Abuja describing it as “nothing but act of sabotage.”
Speaking to Journalists after inspecting the incident, Umeh who is currently having a power tussle with the returnee president of the federation, Aminu Maigari, believes the fire incident was caused by some people who have something to hide at the glass house.
He called on the securities agencies to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
His words: “What are they trying to hide? This fire incident is strange and unbelievable. It goes to show the extent of corruption in the house that we are talking about.
“It is all part of the ploy for some people to perpetuate themselves in power.
“This fire incident is nothing but sabotage and I am urging the security agencies to bring those responsible to book.
Recall there was a strange fire outbreak early morning on Wednesday in Abuja headquarters of the Nigeria’s Football governing body amidst the ongoing power tussle between Aminu Maigari and Mr Mike Umeh.
African Examiner’s correspondent reports that the fire affected the scribe’s office as well as the account unit on the second floor of the football glass house.
However, NFF Boss, Aminu Maigari who has just been reinstated by the sports minister said “what happened is rather sad but we give God the glory that no life was lost.”
