New Year: Oyo Governor Sets 21 Prisoners Free
Latest Headlines Wednesday, January 1st, 2014In commemoration of the New Year, the Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has pardoned 21 prisoners serving jail term in the state with various degree of offence.
Out of those freed, 4 were condemned to death while 5 were serving life imprisonment.
Those condemned but regained their freedom were Bashiru Popoola, Mukaila Salawu, Obinna John, Idowu Emmanuel and Wahab Alao. While Idowu Emmanuel, Wahab Alao, Oba Adeyemo, Isaac Ogunniyi, Bashiru Popoola, Mukaila Salawu and Obinna John were on life imprisonment.
Others released with less offence are Ajayi Akeem, Lati Balogun, Wasiu Rasheed, Sunday, Kazeem, Joke Oladeji, Tijani Ganiyu, Saheed Sikiru, Bisiriyu Olalekan, Segun Amao, Rasheed Taiwo, Ademola Aloba and Okunola Mathew.
