NEMA, Nigerian Airforce, Synergize Existing Relationship In Imo
Imo, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Friday, May 6th, 2022(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said that robust collaboration and quality information sharing among Stakeholders remains key to efficient service delivering during emergency responses.
According to the Agency, it’s against that backdrop that it takes issue of exchange, courtesy visits to Stakeholders very seriously.
Head, NEMA operation’s office, Owerri, Imo State, Mr. Ifeanyi Nnaji, stated this yesterday when he led other Staff of the agency on a courtesy call on the Commander, Nigerian Air force Headquarters 211 Quick Response Group Owerri, Commidore A.F Bassey.
He noted that Courtesy visits has remained NEMA’s oldest and best established traditions, adding that “these official and social calls are one way in many, essential to mutual understanding, respect, confidence, assistance and team work during emergency responses.
African Examiner reports that the 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force Owerri, Imo State is one of the Disaster Response Units DRU’s established for quick and timely assistance during emergency response and interventions.
It is in the light of the above, that Nnaji, said he decided to undertake the visits with a view to deepen relationship with the security agency.
According to him, “the visit was to familiarize with the Command and strengthen the existing bond which will foster greater efficiency in service delivery , improve the role definition of the DRU and other agencies, enhance quality information sharing before, during and after emergencies.
Responding, Commander Bassey who went down memory lane on the existing synergy with NEMA thanked the Ag.Head for seeing reason to work with the DRU under his watch .
While promising to avail every necessary support and assistance that would be needed, he also appealed for more collaboration in experience sharing particularly in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction, which NEMA would deliver a lecture for his personnel
