NATO Confirms Turkish Officers Asylum Request
Latest Headlines, World News Friday, November 18th, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has confirmed that many of its Turkish officers have requested for asylum in other countries.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that, despite their request, the officers did not give names, numbers or reasons for their action.
It is said that the countries involved will consider the requests individually.
It would be recalled that Turkey has dismissed, suspended, detained or arrested its officers, in a massive purge which hit the country’s security agencies, since the aborted July coup attempt.
