CONFAB Delegates Ask For More Time To Study New Constitution
Latest Headlines, News Monday, August 11th, 2014Members of the National Conference 2014 resumed today after over three weeks of recess, with the copy of the drafted constitution distributed among the delegates as well as request for more days for members to study the proposed constitution.
The secretariat of the CONFAB has in a statement penultimate last week, by its Assistant Secretary, Media and Communications, Akpandem James announced the shift in resumption date from Monday, August 4 to 11 to ensure the drat copies of the constitution ready for circulation.The draft, the CONFAB hopes it will be adopted by the constituted authorities and replaces the existing 1999 constitution.
Sequel to the shift request, the Conference management has granted a brief pause for thorough study of the constitution draft. Delegates resume on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 for final deliberation.
