Nasarawa Impeachment Saga: Youths Stage Solidarity Protest for Governor Al – Makura
Latest Headlines, National News, News, Politics Wednesday, July 16th, 2014Some youths in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital thronged the city today in protest against the planned impeachment of the state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, by the State House of Assembly.
The youths with leaves in their hands and placards with different inscriptions protested around the state capital, made bonfires and blocked major roads in the Lafia city and other local government areas of the state.
They said their actions were to oppose the impeachment plot and expressed support as well as show solidarity for the incumbent Governor.
According to them, Governor Al –Makura has done very well in transforming the state, therefore deserves re-election in the coming gubernatorial poll and not impeachment.
