NANS Calls For Arrest and Prosecution of Killer Policeman in Kastina

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called for the arrest and prosecution of the policeman who on Friday shot and killed one Umar Aliyu of the Hassan Usman Polytechnic Katsina State.
The students also seek the sack the Commissioner of Katsina State Police Command and the DPO in charge of the unit, or risk a “total war” which will be declared against the police for the brutal killing of Nigerian students.
NANS said this in a statement signed by its spokesman Okoye Robinson Chibuzo anding that it strongly condemned the act and called on the National Human Rights Commission to investigate the incident and the killings of other 30 students.
The association said it was yet to understand the reason behind the killing of a harmless student by persons whose responsibility is to secure his life and property.”
“This act of barbarism is a total breach of the fundamental right to life of Umar Aliyu as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and can’t be taken as this is a threat to the lives and security of the Nigerian students” NANS declared
