A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued a bench warrant on the ex-Niger Delta Militants Leader, Government Ekpemupolo, aka, Tompolo as well as ordered the Nigeria Police to make him available in the court.
Tompolo alongside former Director General (DG) of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpobolokemi and others are standing trial over 40-count of alleged N13bn fraud preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
When the case was called for hearing Thursday, other accused appeared except Tompolo, who was conspicuously absent and failed to send any representative.
Consequently, Justice Ibrahim Buba issued a bench warrant and directed the Police to produce him in court by all means.
