Mysterious Fire Razes Down Storey Building In Enugu, Kills 6-Year-Old-Girl

FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Enugu – The entire Umueze Street in Awkunanaw, Enugu South local government council of Enugu state, was thrown into tension on Wednesday, as a mysterious fire gutted a two-storey building in the area, killing a six year old child.

As at the time of filing this report, the actual cause of the inferno was yet to be ascertained.

However, a statement from the Enugu State Police Command Public Relations Officer PPRP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the ugly incident.

The command spokesman, explained that the disaster “which occurred at No 9 Umueze Street Awkunanaw Enugu, gutted two flats in the two story building.”

Amaraizu added that the victim, identified as sochimaobi Nwatu, died in the fire incident.

“The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained as investigations have commenced in full scale.” he stated.

In another development, Amarizu, also hinted that the command has commenced full scale investigations into an incident where a passenger allegedly offered a suspected drugged hollandia yoghurt to a hired taxi cab driver.

He said that the Hollandia made the driver to sleep off, paving way for the suspected passenger to run away with the car to an unknown destination.
