Muslim Professionals Meet On Export Opportunities
Latest Headlines, News Thursday, April 21st, 2016The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions holds this year’s annual business seminar on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the University of Lagos Conference Centre.
The group National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Mikail Mumuni, in a statement indicated the seminar theme is: “Sustainable Export Trade for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises: Opportunities and Challenges” and will attract facilitators from The Nigerian Export Promotions Council (NEPC), The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), in addition to seasoned practitioners and consultants.
Mumuni added explained “The essence of the seminar is to sensitize our members, including the general public to self-employment and business opportunities in our environment. It is also to provide platform to expose our members and the Muslim Ummah to government policy direction including facilities and incentives which government and its agencies provide to promote businesses in various sectors of the economy.”
He stressed that “For this year, especially in the light of dwindling oil prices and consequent scarcity of foreign earning, we felt that we could focus on opportunities in export business with a view to taking advantage of government policy on diversification of the economy, especially in non-oil export.”
