MURIC Tasks Oloyede To Give JAMB Human Face
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Thursday, August 4th, 2016LAGOS, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged the newly appointed Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar Prof Ishaq Oloyede to urgently give a human face to the national examination body.
While rejoicing with him on his new appointment, MURIC in a statement issued Wednesday in Lagos by its Director Prof Ishaq Akintola recommended for a starter, all early morning JAMB examinations which start by 6.30 am should be stopped, saying the earliest an examination of the magnitude organized by JAMB could start is 9 am.
The association noted that as a former University’s administrator, it believed that Prof Oloyede possess the required potentials to drive the Examination to desirable level.
“The last JAMB examination held in February 2016 exposed young Nigerians to serious danger. Two female candidates were reportedly kidnapped. Another was killed by hoodlums. Some others had their cell phones and cash snatched by hoodlums on their way to the examination centres because they had to leave home before daylight. The security situation in the country is not yet conducive for such early morning examinations” the group lamented.
The organization prayed that Allah guides Oloyede’s actions and utterances in his capacity as the new JAMB Registrar.
