Murder Of Enugu Monarch: Police Nab One Notorious Suspect

Operatives of the special Anti Robbery Squad (S.A.R.S) of the Enugu state police command Tuesday nabbed one Ejike Mba of Oruku in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state over his involvement in the alleged murder of the traditional ruler of umuode in same council area, late Moses Ugwu.
According to the state police public Relations officer PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, who disclosed to newsmen Tuesday in Enugu, said the “suspect alongside with others at large but now on the wanted list of the operatives had on 9/10/12 at Akpuoga Nike allegedly murdered the monarch in his provision store at about 7.40pm and took to their heels.
“The Suspect who is about 26 years old is a kingpin of the alleged murder of the monarch. He has been at large with his gang after the alleged murder.
“Following a manhunt against him and his gang by the eagle eyed operatives of the special Anti Robbery Squad (S.A.R.S) Enugu, he was nabbed via information where he was attending a function.
According to the PPRO, he is now helping the operatives in their further investigations “and will be charged to court just as manhunt on the fleeing members of the gang have been intensified.”
