More Boko Haram Insurgents Trapped By Military And Vigilante In Biu

Some members of the dreaded Boko Haram have been arrested in Biu, Borno state, North Eastern Nigerian, by the military and members of the local vigilante groups.
The insurgents about 50, were arrested at a checkpoint by the military on a tip by the agents while riding in a truck. The truck driver told security he was threatened to be killed by the insurgents if he refused to cooperate with them – to escape out of the town.
Security at the Biu Barracks has confirmed the arrest, saying the militants were cooperating with the soldiers and giving useful information about their activities.
In a related development, local vigilante groups have also claimed over 50 insurgents have been arrested inside the trucks loaded with the cows and another set in a vehicle scheduled to leave the community.
The arrest by the military and vigilante groups occurred Tuesday and today.
