Metuh Replies Amaechi, Says PDP Didn’t Offer N6bn Bribe To Pastors
Featured, Latest Headlines, Nigeria 2015 Election Thursday, February 5th, 2015The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied allegations that it offered pastors N6 billion to support and give false prophesy in support of President Goodluck Jonathan for Feb 14 presidential elections.
The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh spoke at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of River state, who is also the Director General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, had accused the ruling party of bribing a group of clergy men with a whooping sum of N6 billion.
“Pastors are revered people and to bring their character into disrepute is a sin before God. We do not think anybody, let alone somebody who is a Christian, can make such a statement.
“We challenge the Director General of the APC to name such pastors and where the money is coming from.
“This attack is capable of bringing Christians and Muslims into a major disagreement and major dispute. If truly the person who issued this statement is a catholic as he said, we are asking him to go for confession.” Metuh stated.
