(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A medical Doctor in Imo State, South- east Nigeria, Dr. Harold Onumo has rejected an appointment offered him by outgoing Governor of the state, Chief Rochas Okorocha.

Addressing newsmen Tuesday in Owerri, Onumo, a onetime President General, Imo Youth Assembly IYA, stated that there was no basis for him to accept the offer after the governor had impoverished the people of the state via his anti-people policies and programS
Onumo, equally cited the alleged unfair treatment of medical practitioners in the state’s owned health institutions by the Okorocha’s led administration as part of reasons for rejecting the offer.
According to him, “Okorocha’s government is a failed government and since inception eight years ago, it has openly shown disdain for due process and I do not think I will want to associate myself with such a government at any level whatsoever.” he stated.
Okorocha had being at logger head with several professional associations in the state over members welfare, including Nigeria medical Association NMA.
