The new leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB), Wednesday insisted that its former head, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike remains expelled from the group.
It said Uwazurike’s recent purported announcement that he has changed the name of MASSOB was laughable.
Uwazuruike, had last Sunday announced that he had formed another group, called the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM).
This followed the Uchenna Madu-led MASSOB, insistence that Uwazuruike is being investigated for fraudulent acts.
Madu declared MASSOB was not part of t Uwazurike – led BIM.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the new MASSOB National Director of Information, Samuel Edeson after an emergency meeting of the group at its new headquarters in Okwe, Okigiwe Imo State.
“Uwazuruike remained an expelled leader of MASSOB who is still under investigation of fraudulent acts.
“MASSOB under our new leader, Madu, has never collapsed, or integrated with any group including the newly formed BIM.
“After the investigation, MASSOB shall issue Uwazuruike a time frame to return all MASSOB properties in his possession.” the statement concluded.
