Masari Emerges Katsina APC Governorship Candidate
Featured, Latest Headlines Saturday, December 6th, 2014Oyewale Oyelola, African Examiner – A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari has been elected as APC governorship candidate in Katsina state for 2015 election.
Masari polled 2470 votes to defeat brother of late President Umar Yar’adua and two other aspirants to clinch the party ticket on Saturday.
African Examiner gathered that over 5000 delegates participated in the primaries.
Official results announced by the Chairman, Katsina Primaries Elections Committee, Adesina Aderibigbe shows that Senator Kanti Bello polled 1,327 votes, followed by Sada Ilu with 468 votes and brother of late President Umar Yar’adua; Abdulaziz Yar’adua polled the least votes-243.
Katsina state is the home state of General Buhari (rtd), one the favourite aspirants for APC Presidential ticket slated for December 10 in Lagos.
