Manchester Contest Sergio Aguero’s Elbow Infringement
Featured, Latest Headlines, Sports News Friday, September 2nd, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Manchester City are contesting alleged violent conduct charge against their Striker Sergio Aguero over elbow infringement against West Ham’s Winston Reid.
Aguero clashed with Reid during last Sunday’s 3-1 win in the Premier League.
If guilty, the 28-years old Argentina international risks being banned for three matches and will miss the Manchester derby on September 10, 2016.
In addition, Aguero would miss a league match against Bournemouth and the EFL Cup game against Swansea.
The Football Association said officiating referee Andre Marriner and other match officials did not see the 76th-minute incident, therefore has decided to take retrospective action after reviewing television footage of the encounter.
The investigation panel which is using written submissions and video footage is expected to give ruling on the matter Friday. Aguero will not however appear before the panel.
