Man Slumps, Dies at Church Night Vigil

A middle-aged man, simply identified as Chigozie was on Saturday reportedly died after he slumped at a night vigil.
Our Correspondent reports that the unfortunate incident took place at a Pentecostal church in Umuachara Akpa Mbato village, in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The man slumped twice while the vigil was going on before he eventually gave up the ghost.
Pastor of the church whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report was said to have been arrested by the police, while the remains of the dead man has been deposited in an undisclosed hospital in the commercial city of Aba.
Abia State Commissioner of Police CP, Ibrahim Adamu, when contacted, said he was yet to be briefed on the tragedy.
In another development, a young man identified as Moses Uzoma, who hails from Isiala Ngwa South council Area of the State, drowned at Imo River which serves as boundary between Abia and Rivers State.
The disaster came barel three months that another young man whose name was given as Ugonna Ike drowned in same river while excavating sand.
Uzoma’s body was found floating in the same river on Saturday.
A source disclosed that the body of the victim was later buried at the bank of the river, after his immediate family members were contacted in line with the customs of the people.
African Examiner recalled that in June this year, 20 year-old Ike, a native of Uratta, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area also drowned in the same river while excavating sand, as every effort made to rescue him was unsuccessful.
