The immediate past Governor of Nassarawa State and former Deputy Governor of old Plateau State Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma, said late Solomon Lar was a man that lived all his life fighting for peace and against injustice.
Doma who served as Deputy Governor of Plateau State to Chief Lar in 1979 disclosed this while on a condolence visit at the Beach Road residence, of the late elder statesman in Jos on Monday.
In a related development, the Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda described the late Elder statesman as emancipator and a dogged fighter for the enthronement of Democracy in the North and Nigeria as a whole.
According to him, “Baba will be missed for his love for humanity and quest for peace”.
He urged members of the family members to be consoled and pray that the almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest in paradise.
Responding on behalf of the family, Chairman of Taroh Elders Forum, Selchang Miner, thanked him for the visit.
He also advised the governor to inform other leaders in the country to desist from the corruption, saying “Corruption has eaten up the entire nation and there is an urgent need to tackle it now, or one may just die, as death doesn’t say when it’s coming.
“What would you tell God when you die as a corrupt leader?”
He asked.
