Lagos Settlement Week Holds At Igbosere, Ikeja High Courts

The Lagos Settlement Week (LSW) is a week set aside by the Chief Judge of Lagos State for specific court to clear the backlog of cases through means which include referrals to the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse(LMDC) for possible resolution through mediation,
arbitration, neutral evaluation or any Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) procedure.
LSW will take place from November 4th-8th 2013, and mediation sessions will take place at the LMDC, court rooms of the High Court of Lagos, Igbosere and Ikeja and at designated courts of the magistracy districts.
Benefits of the LSW to the people includes: an opportunity to settle disputes amicably and also obtain a judgement of court, an opportunity to preserve relationships- business, family, neighbours, friends etc.
It is also a faster way to resolve dispute as each case is handled in 3 hours with an opportunity for one adjournment fully paid for.
Individuals who want to refer his case can visit the LMDC at the High Court of Lagos, Igbosere, Lagos Island to file the necessary papers.
The Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse has a panel of Mediators who are well trained locally and internationally in mediation. A carefully selection of Mediator(s) is chosen for each case depending on their specialty areas.
