Lagos Police Confirm Arrest Of Orekoya Kids Abductor
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Thursday, April 16th, 2015By Niyi Adeyi – Lagos – Lagos State Police Command has confirmed it has arrested the 23 years old nanny, who abducted the three Orekoya siblings last week Wednesday in Surulere.
State Commissioner for Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, made the confirmation Thursday.
According to him, the suspected nanny, was identified as Mary Akinloye as well as an indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State, South Western Nigeria.
The Commissioner indicated that given the pressure on her, the suspect abandoned the siblings (Ademola, 6; Adedamola, 4 and Aderomola 11 months old), and were finally rescued late Tuesday on Fatai Street, Shasha in Egbeda a Lagos suburb, in an operation led by a DPO, Obiorah Okonkwo.
The Orekoyas’ father, Leke, Wednesday confirmed that the Police have rescued his boys. While indicating the children have been taken to clinic for treatment, he also informed that the requested ransom was not paid.
