The Lagos State Government has opened a help Desk to fast track processing of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), as the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode approved the release of 3,200 in the last two months – between September and November, 2015.
The Permanent Secretary of the State’s Lands Bureau Mr. Bode Agoro who confirmed this also indicated that Lagos has created a dedicated “Help Desk for uncompleted applications” for those who have applied for C o O but which completion process is being delayed due to absence of essential documents.
Agoro who gave the hint while briefing the media, noted that, the measure has become necessary, considering the avalanche of uncompleted and abandoned applications associated with non-submission of vital information and essential documents by the applicants.
He reiterated the commitment of Ambode’s administration towards prompt signing and release of C o O to applicants, thereby ensuring that, they have official documents of their landed properties.
While imploring all applicants with outstanding applications in the Bureau to take advantage of the new initiative by the state government, Agoro emphasized that with the creation of the Help Desk, it was expected that all the backlog of uncompleted applications for C o O would soon be cleared.
