Lagos Fire Burnts Family Of 5 To Death

An overnight fire has burnt a family of five to death in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
The scene of the tragedy is No. 21 Michael Oguns Street, Lawanson area of Surulere. Eye witnesses said the entire family were burnt to death in the inferno that occurred at the early hours of Wednesday.
The victims include a grandmother, mother, father and two children-a baby and a girl.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe confirmed the incident, describing it as a very sad occurrence.
According to him, officials of the fire service were fought hard to extinguish the fire.
The fire only consumed the room and parlour self-contain where the family lived and it is suspected that they might be sleeping when the inferno began.
In his words; “Tragedy, a family of five persons, father, mother, grandmother, a baby and a girl were consumed by fire at No. 21 Michael Ogun Street, Obele, Lawanson.”
Fadipe further revealed that an unidentified man who was sleeping under a mobile truck was also crushed to death while he was fast asleep at Sari-Iganmu area of Lagos.
