Lagos APC Governorship Primaries Hold On Thursday

The Lagos state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold governorship primary election on Thursday.
According to information made available to journalists on Tuesday in Lagos, the party has cleared twelve aspirants to participate in the exercise.
The aspirants are Senate Minority Whip, Ganiyu Solomon, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, former Accountant-General of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, former Attorney-General Olasupo Shasore and former commissioner for Health Leke Pitan.
Others include Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Obafemi Hamzat, Tayo Ayinde, former Commissioner for Special Duties Tola Kasali, Adetokunbo Wahab and three other aspirants.
Our correspondent learnt that APC National leader, Bola Tinubu has directed his followers to support Akin Ambode. While governor Babatunde Fashola is rooting for Supo Shasore as his successor.
Reliable source within the party told African examiner correspondent that the party has zoned the governorship seat to Lagos East senatorial district, the zone of Ambode and Ikuforiji.
