Audu: Bello, Faleke Supporters Clash At APC Secretariat

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Supporters of about to be substituted candidate of the ruling APC for the Kogi State Supplementary election this Saturday, Yahya Bello and the late Prince Abubakar Audu’s running mate, Hon. James Faleke Monday afternoon clashed and engaged one another in scuffle at the party’s National secretariat, Abuja.
Bello who came second in the primary in which Prince Audu won, is riding on the support of the ruling party and was scheduled to meet with its National Working Committee (NWC), which is still meeting over the party’s choice and expected to submit the replacement to the INEC latest today.
Bello arrived the premises of the party around 2.50 Monday, while the party members, believed to be Faleke’s supporters were still waiting.
The supporters engaged themselves in violent exchanges, forcing the law enforcement to exert extra in ensuring Bello gained entrance safely as well as doused the tension.
Faleke, Monday morning at Ogonicha enclave of late Audu picked the former APC Governorship candidate’s eldest son, Muhammad as his running mate. He told gathering of the party members and supporters that the declaration would be communicated to the party’s NWC also Monday.
