Kidnappers Abduct 2 Chinese Expatriates in Ebonyi

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Heavily armed hoodlums Thursday abducted two Chinese national who were supervising government projects at Uburu community, in Ohaozara council Area of Ebonyi State, southEast Nigeria.
Our Correspondent gathered that the kidnappers whisked away the expatriates whose names are yet to be identified as at the time of filling this reports to an unknown location.
It was learnt that the hoodlums invaded the site where the foreigners were supervising an ongoing government projects along with an in-law to the state governor, Chief Dave Umahi.
The kidnappers according to a source close to the state government, who craved anonymity were shooting sporadically to scare people away, in order to capture their victims.
However, the governor’s in-law quickly alerted the policemen who responded swiftly and pursue the kidnappers but were overpowered by the kidnappers.
The source said the bullets from the gunmen damaged the governor’s in-law’s car but they didn’t sustain any serious injury.
Ebonyi state Police Public relations officer, PPRO, Loveth Odah, when contacted said she was not too sure of the kidnap incident, assuring of the preparedness of the command to get into the remote cause of such incident in the area.
