Kidnapped Living Faith Pastor Regains Freedom
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Saturday, June 20th, 2015By Ignatius Okpara – Exactly one week that he was abducted by unknown gunmen in Calabar, Pastor Seyi Adekunle, of the Living Faith Church, otherwise known as Winners Chapel has regained his freedom.
It would be recalled that the clergyman, was whisked away from the church premises along IBB Way Calabar, last Saturday.
The cleric was released on Saturday by his captors.
It was gathered that the Pastor, was taken to the outskirt of Calabar at midnight and asked to go home.
He found his way to the church where other of his colleagues’ pastors were holding a vigil for his release.
Reacting to the good news, Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN Cross River State chapter, Pastor Lawrence Ekwok, said he could not confirm if any ransom was paid.
He however, expressed gratitude to God, security agencies and the media for helping to facilitate the release of the pastor.
The Cross River state police public Relations officer, PPRO Hogan Bassey, who also confirmed the release, stated that two persons were arrested in connection with the unholy act.
He said: “No ransom was paid but we are on the trail of other accomplices and very soon I will give you more details,” the Command spokesman, told newsmen.
