Keyamo Drags SSS, IGP To Court Over Threat By Tompolo


Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo has dragged the Director, State Security Service, SSS, and the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to the Federal High Court, Abuja over alleged threats by Niger Delta warlord, Tompolo to his life.

Keyamo had issued 72-hour ultimatum to the Director, SSS and the IGP to arrest and investigate Tompolo over alleged threats to his life.

In the suit filed at the Federal High Court, with the SSS Director and the IGP joined as defendant, Keyamo filed a motion expert brought under Order 34, Rule 1 (1)(a) and Rule 3 (1) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedures) Rules 2009; Section 4 and 23 of the Police Act, CAP P19 LFN, 2004 and under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the court.

Keyamo is seeking an order granting leave to the Applicant (he) to apply for an order of Mandamus compelling the 1st and 2nd Respondents to invite for investigation one Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) over allegations of threat to kill him, acts of terror (kidnapping, torture and attempted murder) made against him by the Applicant, Mr. Festus Keyamo and several other victims.

The Applicant is also seeking an order of Mandamus compelling the 1st and 2nd Respondents to investigate one Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) for the allegations of threat to kill Mr. Festus Keyamo, acts of terror (kidnapping, torture and attempted murder) made against him by the Applicant, Mr. Festus Keyamo and several other victims.

More so, there is an order of Mandamus compelling the 1st and 2nd Respondents to make available to the Applicant the report of their investigations into the allegations of threat to kill Mr. Festus Keyamo, acts of terror (kidnapping, torture and attempted murder) made against him by the Applicant, Mr. Festus Keyamo and several other victims and for such further order(s) as the court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this Application.
