Keshi Returns As Super Eagles Coach, Pardons Ikechukwu Uche

Stephen Keshi on Friday returned to his duty as Super Eagles, Head Coach two weeks after Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) replaced him with Shaibu Amodu as interm Coach.

Stephen KeshiKeshi fondly called the Big Boss was recalled due to President Goodluck Jonathan directive to Amaju Pinnick led NFF executive committee during the week.

Our correspondent learnt that President during the meeting with the two warring camps at the presidential villa on Wednesday ordered NFF to recall Stephen Keshi with immediately effect.

The President’s intervention in NFF crisis led to the withdrawal of court case against Pinnick led exco by Chris Giwa faction in Federal High Court sitting in Jos.

It would be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Jos last week sacked Amaju Pinnick led NFF executive.

Justice Ambrose Allagoa in his judgment said Maigari led NFF erred by conducting the September 30 election against court injunction.

“I have set aside all the proceedings and decisions of the Warri Extra Ordinary meeting of the 20th September and the Elective Congress of 30th September which were direct contravention of the orders of this court as granted on the 19th September.” The Judge ruled

It is not clear if Keshi will return with his coaching crew sacked by NFF.

Meanwhile, Stephen Keshi has called up Spain-based striker Ikechukwu Uche after about two years snub for South Africa return leg coming up in Uyo.

According to a statement by Ademola Olajire, the Assistant Director (Communications), Nigeria Football Federation, Nasarawa United midfielder Tony Edjomari will make his first appearance for senior team while home-based defender Solomon Kwambe is also making a return.

Other home based players invited include; Aaron Samuel, Hope Akpan, Sunday Emmanuel and Emem Eduok.

Team captain and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defenders Godfrey Oboabona and Elderson Echiejile, midfielders Ogenyi Onazi and Mikel Obi, and forwards Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike and Babatunde Michael were part of the25-man squad invited.
