Former governor of Kano State and Senator for Kano South Senatorial District from 2007-2011, Architect Kabiru Gaya has urged Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso to run for presidency in 2015.
Gaya stated this in his goodwill message on thursday during the 2014 International Women Day organized by Kano state government to empower 750 women.
According to him; “I have been on the seat before, I know the pressure you will feel. I was in government house from 22months before military takeover in 1993. I commend you effort for delivering good governance to people of Kano state.
“With your performance in Kano state, I think people of Nigeria will gain a lot if you pursue higher level at national level”
The former governor blamed the poor electricity support on PDP government as PHCN off the light while making his speech.
His words; ” NEPA have off the light, that what you get from PDP government. They have failed the country. All Progressives Congress will fix the power problem if elected to presidency in 2015. I urge you to join the winning team-APC. APC is the party that can bring desire change to people of Nigeria.”
African Examiner investigation shows that Gaya might take over from Rabiu Kwankwaso who is due to complete his second term as Kano state governor in 2015.
Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya who was born on 16 June 1952 ruled Kano state from January 1992 to November 1993 under NRC platform. He was elected to Senate in 2007,representing the Kano South constituency of Kano State for the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
