Kaduna Abduction: Nigeria Is Falling Apart – Oby Ezekwesili
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Monday, March 15th, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, says that Nigeria is falling apart and the political leaders are becoming mere spectators in the scheme of things.
Ezekwesili disclosed this on Monday as she reacted to the recent abduction of thirty nine students in Kaduna.
According to the ex-minister, Nigeria celebrates citizens who are global achievers but the world wonders at the failure of government to protect school children.
Ezekwesili said: “The Paradox that is the Nigerian-State is too obvious to ignore. At the same time as we celebrate exceptional global Wins, the world wonders at the abysmal failure of Governance that places zero value on the lives of children we send to school. Latest, #Kaduna ThirtyNine.
“There is no better imagery of the depth of failure of the Nigerian-State at this point than the fact that the latest victims of abduction – #KadunaThirtyNine were successfully taken from a school within proximate distance of the Nigerian Defense Academy. Think deeply. Think.
“While the country falls apart, @MBuhari dishonorably sits in Aso Rock answering the vacuous titles of Excellency, @NGRPresident and Commander-in-Chief of the @HQNigerianArmy: the lives of citizens in that barbaric video of the #KadunaThirtyNine meaning zilch to him. Tragic.
“If there is any modicum of humanity left in the @NigeriaGov, @MBuhari and @GovKaduna should immediately mobilize whatever mechanisms they used in rescuing the #Kankara and #Kagara victims of abduction and immediately bring back the #KadunaThirtyNine. They’re entitled to RESCUE.
“When leaders like @MBuhari embed prejudices and all forms of biases into Governance of country of diverse people they fertilize the wobbly Nigerian-State to enter final stages of collapse. Citizens are the only segment of actors within Nigeria that can coalesce to check him.
“Commander-in-Chief” give justice of rescue today to #KadunaThirtyNine #112ChibokGirls #LeahSharibu and other citizens of your country languishing in terrorist enclaves because of your failure to govern Nigeria according to the oath of office you took.”
