Judge Arrested By DSS Withdraws From Dasuki’s Arms Scandal Trial
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Tuesday, October 18th, 2016ABUJA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Justice Adeniyi Ademola of a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja has withdrawn from the alleged corruption suit filed against the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).
Justice Ademola is one of the seven controversial judges recently arrested, across the country over alleged bribery collection and other professional misconducts.
The jurist who has given many daring rulings before and the inception of the present administration, has since granted bail to Dasuki, who used his office to misappropriate $1.2 billion arms procurement fund to fight Boko Haram insurgents.
The senior judge also granted permission to Dasuki to travel abroad to attend to his alleged failing health condition.
He alleged that his decision to withdraw from the suit was due to persistent harassment he has been receiving from the operatives of Department of State Security (DSS).
It would be recalled Justice Ademola upon realizing DSS visit to his residence in Abuja, instructed his security guards to reply DSS officials that he was not indoors. This forced the operatives to pull down his gate; searched his house and arrested him.
