Jonathan Will Win Plateau, Says Jang
Featured, Latest Headlines Monday, January 12th, 2015From Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Despite burning of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign vehicles in Jos, the Plateau state capital, Governor Jonah Jang, has said that the people of the state will vote massively for the president in the February 14 Presidential election.
Jang stated this at the new Government House, Rayfield, in Jos, during a reception in honour of the PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Gyang Pwajok, who had just returned from Lagos where he received the party’s flag.
Jang said, “Plateau is PDP and the people of the state would continue to support the party.
“The PDP shall form the next Federal Government, PDP will win the governorship election in Plateau State this year, and we will do it by God’s guidance and by our clean minds.
“We shall campaign hard to ensure victory for our party at all levels.
“PDP has done well in transforming the nation and would do more if voted into office in February.”
Also speaking, Senator Pwajok expressed optimism that the PDP’s chances of winning the election were high, saying he was overwhelmed by the turn out of supporters who thronged the airport to welcome him back home from Lagos.
It would be recalled that branded buses for President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign were burnt down on Saturday by irate youths in Jos North LGA of Plateau State.
AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered that, the incident occurred around Bauchi Road area, which is predominantly dominated by the Hausa/ Fulanis.
Our correspondent further gathered that the buses were heading to Bauchi State; the buses were set ablaze by youths allegedly to be supporters of APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
