Jonathan Rewards 164 Corp Members With Employment, Scholarship
Featured, Latest Headlines Monday, March 2nd, 2015From Ganiyu Nasirudeen – A total of 164 former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have been offered post-graduate scholarships for post graduate studies and automatic employment.
The corps members were of 2012, 2013 and 2014 service years. The Presidential offer is on account of their outstanding performances during their one year service.
President Goodluck Jonathan announced this in Abuja, during the 2014 President’s NYSC Honours Award and the flag off of the NYSC Hope Alive Programme targeted at helping corps members with permanent disabilities while in the 12 months National service.
Mr. President clarified that, the beneficiaries were those who have not been employed by their state governments and promised to continue to give priority youth empowerment programmes.
The breakdown of the corps members, President Jonathan indicated included 55, 52 and 57 drawn from 2012; 2013 and 2014 service years respectively.
