Jonathan, Ministers Leave for Accra for ECOWAS Summit
Featured, Latest Headlines Wednesday, July 9th, 2014President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is billed to leave Abuja Wednesday for Accra to join other Heads of State and Government to participate in a two-day summit of ECOWAS scheduled to open in Accra, the Ghanaian capital on Thursday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the Summit would consider and adopt the 2014 Interim Report of the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Kadre Desire Ouedraogo, deliberate on the report of the 72nd Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers as well as the report of the 32nd Session of the regional body’s Mediation and Security Council.
President Jonathan who will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, to the Summit is due back in Nigeria on Friday as the Summit closes.
