Jonathan Formally Unveils New Commemorative N100 Notes

President Goodluck Jonathan has formally presented the new N100 commemorative notes in the country’s capital, FCT Abuja, with the confirmation that it was meant to commemorate 100 years of the Nigeria’s amalgamation.
Both the President and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, hailed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) initiative, despite complaint (new notes) of non availability during the country’s recent centenary events.
He noted the commemorative N50 notes have been introduced earlier – during the last country’s 50th independence anniversary.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele after the unveiling of the new note mentioned other countries that had trailed the blaze in the historic regards, which include Morocco, Russia and Costa Rica and others.
Emefiele added that the new note was made with the world sophisticated and advanced security features, while the design platforms was made with full regard to security, durability, attractiveness, cultural heritage and transformation.
The ceremony held during the weekly Federal Executive Council Meeting with the Vice President Namadi Sambo in attendance and other Ministers.
