“Jonathan Can Win Ondo In 2015 Without Mimiko”
Latest Headlines, News, News From The State Tuesday, November 18th, 2014A United States – based indigene of Ondo State, Mr. Awoyemi Olumide Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan can win the next year Presidential election without the influence of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Olumide, who was speaking with Newswatch correspondent in Washington, DC, said that Ondo State would continue to vote for President Jonathan because of the good leadership styles displayed so far by some Chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) like Chairman of the Global Fleet Company, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim and Chief Olusola Oke.
He described the recent defection of Labour Party government to PDP as groundless, stressing “before the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, people of Ondo State had shown their supports for PDP party.
“I can say authoritatively that without Mimiko, Jonathan will come out victorious in next year Presidential election. PDP has become the next option of Ondo State people since the administration of LP had disappointed them.
“Going by the results of the last 2012 governorship election in Ondo State, PDP came second despite the crisis that rocked the party both at the State and National levels. Ondo State people are wise and we can be able to identify true leaders to follow or elect to represent us.”
While commending Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim for his steadfastness to ensure that members of the party are united, the Ondo State PDP Chieftain urged the National Leadership of the party not to give rooms for injustice to select candidates for the National/House of Assemble election.
He said, ” I want to commend the effort of Barrister Ibrahim and others who stood firm to support justice. I also want to implore the leadership of our great party not to allow anybody to deceive them.
“All we want in Ondo State is for all aspirants to test his popularities through the transparent primary elections, which I believe it is good for Nigeria’ s democracy. You cannot just wake up and impose unpopular and unacceptable candidates on us.”
