Jim Nwobodo’s Eldest Son, Ifeanyi, Dies Of Cancer

Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo (Jnr), a former Commissioner for Science and Technology in Enugu state and eldest son of the ex- governor of Old Anambra state, Senator Jim Nwobodo, is dead.
The junior Nwobodo, according to the father, passed on at the Enugu based Niger Foundation hospital, on Friday after returning from Huston Texas United States (US), where he had been treated for cancer.
He was said to have complained of having pains on his leg and met a senior oncologyist with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, (UNTH), Enugu, after which he died of complications from medication.
The father, Senator Nwobodo, while narrating the ordeal to Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi state during a condolence visit, Saturday, said that the late son was taken to the best cancer treatment hospital in US, where he stayed for five months and was discharged and returned to Nigeria recently.
Senator Nwobodo, explained that the family had even gone for church thanksgiving service in his country home – Amaechi Awkwunanu, in Enugu South council Area two weeks ago, adding that all was well before the abrupt pains on his leg that led to his sudden demise last Friday.
Governor Elechi, condoled with the Nwobodo family and prayed God to grant it the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The late Nwododo jnr, a trained Medical doctor, was married with children.
