Iran Accuses US of Breach; Vows To Go Ahead With Nuclear-Powered Ships
Featured, Latest Headlines, World News Tuesday, December 13th, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has ordered the Middle East country to develop nuclear-powered ships.
The President is alongside accusing the United States of violating last year’s international nuclear deal.
In a statement by Mr. Rouhani, he criticised the US Congress move as a breach of the accord and said he had asked his officials to start work on “planning the design and production of nuclear fuel and reactors for maritime transport.”
The Congress recently voted to extend its laws regarding sanctions against Iran.
It would be recalled that the world powers had agreed to lift sanctions in exchange for curbs to Iran’s nuclear programme.
The outgoing President Barack Obama is expected to sign the bills into laws, but had claimed that the provisions would not affect the international agreement.
Obama insists that the White House will continue to suspend all the sanctions linked to Iran’s nuclear programme.
