INEC Warns Osun Voters; No Cards, No Voting in the Guber Poll
Latest Headlines, News, osun election 2014, Politics Thursday, July 17th, 2014The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned prospective voters in the State of Osun that without permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), they will not be allowed to exercise their voting right in the August 9 gubernatorial election.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Olusegun Agbaje gave the warning Wednesday, insisting that PVCs was the only license for the electorates to cast their votes.
He revealed the alarm was necessary as at present, 790, 200 out of 1,256,569 PVCs have been collected by their owners. There are 1,406,454 registered voters in Osun.
In the main time, members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the National Assembly has warned against the use of Military ahead of the coming governorship election which holds in about three weeks time. Senator Bukola Saraki and House Minority Leader, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila handed down the warning in Abuja, describing the approach as uncivilized.
