Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has warned that that no opposition should come from the South-South against President Jonathan in 2015 if the President decides to contest.
He stated this in a Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), phone-in programme in Asaba.
According to him, “President Jonathan has every right to run for the presidency if he wants to in 2015. You can objectively criticise some areas of his government you feel need some improvement, but to say that he is not doing well, or that he cannot run for presidency in 2015 is totally wrong and unacceptable.”
The governor added that “you know this is the first time somebody from the South-South is occupying that position, and the way he came in and with the challenges on ground, the initial disturbances and all that, I think he is doing well, and I am 100 per cent in support of him in whatever he is doing now, and in the future”.
He stated that he believes in President Jonathan’s presidency adding that he is doing well to earn his support.
“I don’t know whether anyone still has doubts about the warmth in my relationship with Mr. President at this stage because, I believe in him: I believe in his presidency, and I believe that, with all the challenges around him, he is keeping his head above his shoulders, and he is doing it very well”, he noted.
